1535AD     Act II, Scene II: Japan

Japan was an easy next choice, as I already had most of my tanks right on their border and they controlled the only two luxuries that I still lacked. The fact that their MPP with China had since ended was also helpful. I didn't want to deal with the tundra in southern China until I had finished off the other civs, so they got the honor of being the last to go. I'm not going to comment much on this page, because instead I took a series of 5 pictures detailing, turn by turn, my conquest of Japan. It took a total of 4 turns of fighting, and during the first turn I destroyed a Japanese attack force (heading for a sneak attack) that contained over 70 units. I wonder where they got all of them from. Anyway, enjoy the pictures (if displaying them doesn't crash the site...) Editor's Note: I scaled down these pictures to save server space - they were unnecessarily large.

Japan 1530AD. There is a massive stack of panzers (70+) on the hill next to Hyderabad.

1535AD. Large gains already evident. Notice too the town founded just to get control of the saltpeter hill to speed the attack.

1540AD. Japan in serious trouble. Lack of railroads and settlers to plug gaps prevents the advance from going further.

1545AD. Japan is crumbling before my eyes. It's just a matter of getting my workers into place to build railroads where needed.

1550AD. Japan dead. A nice little 4-turn war, although each turn took about an hour to complete.

Hope you enjoyed the show. For the curious, I got 5 leaders in this war, numbers 9 - 13, and used most of them on temples (one on a settler, he he). China was now the last remaining civ...
